Buyer Questions and Answers

Q: How do I submit a Request for Quote (RFQ)?
A: Simply log-in, select "Enter a New Request for Quote", and follow the simple 3 step process.

Q: How many Vendors will see my RFQ?
A: There are hundreds of Heat Treaters that use the system each day.

Q: How quickly can I expect to receive a quote back?
A: Quotes submitted by various Heat Treaters are immediately posted to your account.

Q: Will other Buyers or Vendors be able to see my RFQ or Quote?
A: No. Both RFQ's and Quote responses are only posted to your private account.

Q: Can I attach files when I submit a new request for quote?
A: Yes. You can attach up to 4 different files such as CAD, Image, or Document files.

Q: How will I know when a new Quote has been submitted by a Heat Treater?
A: Once a quote has been submitted you will automatically be notified by e-mail.

Q: Am I able to delete RFQ's and Quotes from the system?
A: Yes. Once a RFQ is no longer needed it can be deleted from the system at any time.

Q: How much does it cost to use the system?
A: Nothing. It's free. You can use it as much as you want.

Q: How many Buyers will be sending me RFQ's to quote?
A: There are hundreds of buyers that use the system on a regular basis.

Q: Will other Heat Treaters be able to see what prices I'm quoting to various Buyers.
A: No. Quotes are posted to the Buyers account and cannot be accessed by anyone else.

Q: Am I able to modify or change a quote that I have already submitted?
A: Yes. Any quote that you submit to a buyer can be re-quoted.

Q: When will I know if a new RFQ has been posted by a buyer?
A: By simply accessing your account. We encourage you to do so several times a day.

Q: How do I know if my quote has been accepted by the buyer?
A: The buyer will contact you directly by phone or e-mail. For security reasons, the system will not issue PO's.

Q: How do I know if and when a RFQ has been awarded to another Heat Treater?
A: The RFQ will show a status of being "Awarded". The vendor who it has been awarded to will not be listed.

Q: What if I have a question about a specific RFQ? How do I get in contact with the Buyer?
A: All of the buyer information is provided. The system also supports a custom message center that can be used to communicate directly with the buyer concerning a specific RFQ.
